#gransteatrerus is the social project of Grup Focus that aims to help combat unwanted loneliness among older people and promote active aging through theatre and culture.
#gransteatrerus promotes generational links between older and younger people, using theatre as a link and center of interest, both from the perspective of the spectators and the participants.
Born in the 2023-2024 season, #gransteatrerus has already become a stable project that takes place in the theaters of the Focus Group — Teatre Romea, Teatre Goya, Teatre Condal and La Villarroel —, and also includes complementary activities, such as meetings with great performers of the Catalan scene.
#gransteatrerus is experiencing theatre like never before: sharing emotions, reflections and experiences between generations.

We've all visited La Pedrera at some point, but very few can say they were born there. Such is the case of Pilar Pauli Fàbregas, the daughter of a servant, who first opened her eyes in this iconic building. She grew up in different neighborhoods of Barcelona and has witnessed many changes in its streets: the arrival of the Civil War, the Franco regime... and now the wave of expats! Although she's a shy person, Pilar has always loved the performing arts; she's done amateur theater and sung in the Sant Jordi Choir. —There's a ring at the doorbell! Hawa's here. This year Pilar will turn 99 and lives alone. She met 23-year-old Hawa Sow Sarri thanks to #gransteatrerus, a project by Grup Focus that aims to combat unwanted loneliness in older adults and promote active aging through theater and culture. Hawa is coming to pick up Pilar. They'll have coffee in the neighborhood while catching up, and then, little by little, they'll head to one of the participating theaters. Today they're going to the Romea. After the performance, they'll discuss it with other couples like themselves and then go home. These outings fill Pilar with life. She loves chatting with the Grans Teatrerus, enjoying the theater, and sharing moments with young people.
