Antonia Galindo achieved great fame as a flamenco dancer. The farruca and the garrotín were her specialty. She was known as La Bella Dora or Dora la Gitana, and she thrilled audiences in cities such as Almería, Barcelona, ​​and Valencia with her dancing and grace. In 1909, she appeared on stage in trousers, which caused a huge scandal. For some, Dora's trousers were more provocative than the nude performances of some artists: "I suppose that the most modest among us would prefer today's nudity to Dora's immodest movements in a man's suit, very tight and made of very thin fabric" (El Bloque, 1-6-1909). The lyrics of her garrotines also scandalized the public, and on several occasions they ended up arresting the dancer, as in Zaragoza, where the Beautiful Dora "annoyed by the hissing of the public, sang two verses offensive to the audience, who protested loudly, causing an enormous scandal. The uproar did not cease until the Beautiful Dora was arrested "(El Noroeste, 17-7-1909). Also in Palencia, the attendees attempted to burn down the coliseum and were only stopped by the arrest of the scandalous Dora. Later, Dora reappeared on the artistic scene with more modest clothing and image that must have displeased the audience.
