We have all visited La Pedrera at some point, but very few can say they were born there. That is the case of Pilar Pauli Fàbregas, the daughter of domestic staff, who first opened her eyes in this iconic building. She grew up in different neighbourhoods of Barcelona and has witnessed many changes in its streets: the arrival of the Civil War, the Franco regime... and now the wave of expats! Although she is shy, Pilar has always loved show business; she has done amateur theatre and sung in the Coral Sant Jordi choir. —There's the doorbell! Hawa is here. This year Pilar will turn 99, and she lives alone. She met 23-year-old Hawa Sow Sarri through #gransteatrerus, a Grup Focus project that aims to combat unwanted loneliness among older people and encourage active ageing through theatre and culture. Hawa comes to pick Pilar up; they will have a coffee in the neighbourhood while they catch up and then, little by little, make their way to one of the participating theatres. Today they are going to the Romea. When the performance is over, they will talk about it with other pairs like them and then head home. These outings fill Pilar with life. She loves chatting with the Grans Teatrerus, enjoying the theatre and spending time with young people.

COMPOSITION

100% recycled yarn from pre-consumer textile scraps.
(20% recycled wool and 80% recycled acrylic)

Around 92 million tons of textile waste are generated each year. Our sweaters recycle these materials to give them a new life.
