From a very young age, Jenkins expressed her love for music, and from that moment on, nothing and no one could dissuade her from fulfilling her dream. Florence could barely sustain a note. Based on her recordings, it's evident that she had very poor hearing, but despite her lack of ability, she was firmly convinced of her greatness. Both her husband and her parents tried to dissuade her, but thanks to an inheritance, Florence was able to begin her dream musical career. Her recitals were frequently plagued by tempo variations, missed rhythms, and off-key performances, but she compared herself to renowned sopranos and excused the audience's laughter, considering them rivals consumed by "professional envy." The reviews were so fierce that they quickly caught the public's attention, and Florence became tremendously famous. Some say that Florence's 32-year musical career was an elaborate life joke. But everything seems to indicate that the great opera singer died at the age of 76 with the same firm conviction and sense of fulfillment that characterized her throughout her life.
