A collaboration between IAIOS and Pallapupas, the campaign stars Paquita and is inspired by the NGO's weekly visits to the Pere Relats residence. The proceeds will go towards the organization's work with the elderly and hospitalized patients.

Sustainable clothing brand IAIOS and Pallapupas have joined forces to launch a charity sweater in honor of International Day of Older Persons. The garment, available on the IAIOS website, pays tribute to the bonds of affection and understanding forged daily in the care of older adults, and all proceeds will go towards funding Pallapupas' programs for this community. The campaign is inspired by and features a true story born from the long-standing collaboration between the NGO and the Pere Relats Foundation: the story of Paquita.

The relationship between Paquita and the Pallapupas is the heart of this project and a living reflection of the collaboration between the NGO and the Pere Relats Foundation, dedicated to the care of the elderly. Every Tuesday, for more than five years, Paquita has waited for the clowns with a book in her lap and a smile, in an encounter that goes beyond a simple visit: it's a rendezvous with memory, laughter, and presence. This solidarity sweater, available on the IAIOS website along with Paquita's full story, is a tribute to this relationship woven with respect, humor, and affection, and its purchase represents direct support so that thousands of people like her—hospitalized patients and their families—can continue to receive the Pallapupas' companionship every week.

Paquita's story exemplifies the impact of Pallapupas' work with older adults, a group the organization supports to improve their mood through humor and emotional connection. Pallapupas, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has demonstrated with data that its interventions reduce anxiety, fear, and pain in healthcare and care settings. Its work, always carried out in close collaboration with staff, is not only aimed at children but also at adults and older adults, demonstrating the therapeutic power of laughter at all stages of life.

This collaboration stems from a shared vision. IAIOS is a brand of "lifelong" sweaters, made with recycled and locally sourced yarn according to social and environmental sustainability criteria. Their philosophy is based on respect for the legacy of grandparents ("iaios"), creating durable garments that eschew fast fashion. This commitment to people and the planet aligns directly with Pallapupas' purpose of nurturing the emotional well-being of the community.

ABOUT PALLAPUPAS

Pallapupas is a non-profit association founded in 2000. It works closely with healthcare staff with the aim of improving the emotional state of patients and healthcare staff through humor in the hospital setting.

The Pallapupas work closely with healthcare staff to support medical treatments and protocols. Their activities are not only aimed at children, but also at adult patients, who show remarkable improvements in their mood and physical condition during their hospital stay, as demonstrated in the VIDA studies.

Furthermore, it is the first NGO in Europe accredited to access and accompany patients in the operating room area. Currently, they have a presence in 8 hospitals and centers in Catalonia, reaching more than 104,000 beneficiaries annually.

Its members have specialized training to carry out their interventions with patients, family members and healthcare personnel with the utmost rigor.
